About VENLA

We’re Minna and Satu, originally from Finland but living and working in Australia for over 25 years. Our company had been providing services in the travel industry and was going great until COVID hit. Like many others, our income just dried up. So, with Finnish sisu (dogged determination), we decided to start a new business and do good for our community and the environment. This is when VENLA resell+relove was born.

We love Australia, the beaches, the weather, the food and most importantly the people. But there are always thing we miss about Finland and the Nordic culture. One of the things we realised Australia lacked was places to sell our good quality preloved clothing.

The flea market concept and the rent-a-rack system have existed in Finland for many years. There are hundreds of secondhand boutiques and flea markets in Helsinki and around the country. It’s a common practice for people to go through their wardrobes once or twice a year and resell pieces they no longer need.

The VENLA story began in Mosman in January 2021. Launching at the height of the pandemic, our 'rent-a-rack' concept was immediately embraced by the local community, offering a creative and sustainable way to cycle quality fashion.Following our early success in Mosman, we expanded across Sydney—opening Bondi in 2021 and Balmain in 2022, followed by Manly and Cronulla in 2023, and Avalon in 2024. While our footprint has evolved and we have since closed our Bondi, Avalon, and Cronulla locations, our mission remains unchanged.

Today, VENLA continues to thrive through our three flagship stores in Balmain, Manly, and Mosman.
